Abstract | The present invention provides a robot ball with an autopilot function and a control system thereof which can increase the emotional stability and activity of a pet. According to embodiments of the present invention, the control system of a robot ball with an autopilot function comprises a robot ball including: an outer case of which at least one area is transparent; an inner housing positioned in the outer case to include at least one processor, at least one memory, a wireless communication interface, a propulsion system, a battery, and a sensor; and a camera installed on a support unit of the inner housing, and a charging platform to wirelessly supply power to the robot ball by docking with the robot ball to charge the battery. The propulsion system is configured to rotate the outer case in response to a command received via the wireless communication interface or a command stored on the memory executed by the processor. The processor controls the propulsion system to avoid a surrounding obstacle identified by the camera and the sensor to perform an autopilot operation of the robot ball.
