Summary:The present invention relates to a device and a method for induction heating of a generator retaining ring, wherein the device comprises: a heating part installed outside the generator retaining ring to heat the retaining ring; a power supply connector installed at one end of the heating part so as to vary the position thereof in a longitudinal direction of the retaining ring; and a power supply part supplying power to the power supply connector. The number of heaters, which were separately manufactured for each capacity of a generator and are used in heating the retaining ring, is minimized and thus the manufacturing costs can be reduced. The time required for replacing the heater for heating the retaining ring having a different length is reduced, and thus the work efficiency can be increased. 본 발명은 발전기 리테이닝 링 유도가열 장치 및 방법에 있어서, 발전기 리테이닝 링의 외부에 설치되어 상기 리테이닝 링을 가열하는 가열부; 상기 가열부의 일측단에 상기 리테이닝 링의 길이방향으로 위치가 가변 가능하도록 설치되는 전원공급 콘넥터;및 상기 전원공급 콘넥터로 전원을 공급하는 전원공급부;를 포함하여, 발전기의 용량에 따라 각각 만들던 리테이닝 링 가열시 사용되는 히터의 수를 최소화하여 제작원가를 절감하고, 길이가 다른 리테이닝 링의 가열을 위해 히터를 교체하는데에도 소요되는 시간도 줄여서, 작업 효율을 증대시키는 효과가 있다.
