It is confirmed that the populus tomentiglandulosa extract is excellent in nerve cell protection ability and inhibition of neuronal cell death, and is excellent in inhibiting activation of neuroglial cells. Thus, it is possible to effectively prevent nerve damage in a brain hippocampal CA1 region, which is known to be sensitive to cerebral ischemia.
