Summary:Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for cooling medical devices. According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is the medical device cooling apparatus comprises: a cooling tank which accommodates a cooling fluid; a cooling device for cooling the cooling fluid in the cooling tank; a first cooling line which circulates the cooling fluid between the cooling tank and a laser generating unit in order to cool the laser generating unit for generating laser for a procedure of a person to take a procedure; a first cooling pump which is installed in the first cooling line to move the cooling fluid in the first cooling line; a second cooling line which circulates the cooling fluid between the cooling tank and a handpiece in order to cool the handpiece for irradiating laser to a portion to be operated; a second cooling pump which is installed in the second cooling line to move the cooling fluid in the second cooling line; a second temperature sensor which is installed in the second cooling line to sense the temperature of the cooling fluid passing the handpiece and returning to the cooling tank; and a control unit which adjusts a driving speed of the second cooling pump to change a flow rate of the cooling fluid passing the handpiece into a predetermined flow rate target value, according to the temperature of the cooling fluid sensed by the second temperature sensor.
