Disclosed are a method and apparatus for providing a service of hybrid media embedded with a seamless HDMI automatic conversion function connected with a smartphone. The method for providing a service of media suggested by the present invention comprises the following steps of: selecting a media application or a channel desired to be watched through a TV, through a media application connected with a smart terminal, and executing the same on the smart terminal; checking a power supply state of a media terminal executing wireless pairing with the smart terminal; if the power supply state of the media terminal is smooth, allowing the media terminal to detect the media application connected with the smart terminal to perform synchronization with the media application, stopping TV output of media received by an HDMI input interface according to a request for reproducing a service application/channel of a user through an HDMI switching function, and reproducing the media on the basis of an application embedded in the media terminal and outputting the same through a TV; and if the power supply state of the media terminal is blocked, maintaining set-top broadcasting watching through the HDMI switching function by using a power introduced by HDMI input of the media terminal connected with a set-top box. 스마트폰과 연계한 심리스 HDMI 자동 변환 기능을 내장한 하이브리드 미디어 서비스 방법 및 장치가 제시된다. 본 발명에서 제안하는 미디어 서비스 방법은 TV 시청을 원하는 미디어 앱 또는 채널을 스마트 단말과 연동하는 미디어 앱을 통해 선택하여 스마트 단말 상에서 실행하는 단계, 스마트 단말과 무선 페어링을 수행하는 미디어 단말의 전원 공급 상태를 확인하는 단계, 미디어 단말의 전원 공급 상태가 원활한 경우, 미디어 단말이 스마트 단말과 연동하는 미디어 앱을 탐지하여 미디어 앱과의 동기화를 수행한 후, HDMI 스위칭 기능을 통해 사용자의 서비스 앱/채널 재생 요청에 따라 HDMI 입력 인터페이스로 수신되는 미디어의 TV 출력을 중단하고 미디어 단말의 내장 어플리케이션을 기반으로 미디어를 재생 및 TV 출력 하는 단계, 미디어 단말의 전원 공급 상태가 차단된 경우, 셋톱박스가 연결된 미디어 단말의 HDMI 입력으로 유입되는 전력을 이용하여 HDMI 스위칭 기능을 통해 셋톱 방송 시청을 유지하는 단계를 포함한다.
