Disclosed are a vacuum pump actuation time control apparatus and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the vacuum pump actuation time control apparatus comprises: an input unit receiving an atmospheric pressure sensor value outputted from an atmospheric pressure sensor; an estimation unit estimating an altitude in which a vehicle is placed with the inputted atmospheric pressure sensor value; and a control unit controlling actuation time of a vacuum pump with a vacuum pump actuation pattern at each altitude which is set in accordance with the altitude in which the vehicle is placed when the altitude in which the vehicle is placed is estimated. 진공 펌프 동작 시간 제어 장치 및 그 제어 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 진공 펌프 동작 시간 제어 장치 및 그 제어 방법은 대기압 센서로부터 출력되는 대기압 센서값을 입력받는 입력부; 입력된 대기압 센서값을 이용하여 차량이 위치한 고도를 추정하는 추정부; 및 차량이 위치한 고도를 추정하면, 차량이 위치한 고도에 따라 설정된 고도별 진공 펌프 동작 패턴으로 진공 펌프의 동작 시간을 조절하는 제어부를 포함한다.
