The present invention relates to a method for producing a cosmetic composition for moisture, a medicinal composition, and menthol glycoside containing the menthol glycoside as an active ingredient. According to the producing method of the present invention, with a bioconversion method which is safe for a human body instead of a chemical method, (-)-menthyl--D-glucose is conveniently produced to be usefully used in various industries relevant to the (-)-menthyl--D-glucose. Moreover, the (-)-menthyl--D-glucose has high water solubility compared to menthol, does not have cytotoxicity, has an excellent skin temperature reduction effect compared to the menthol, and has an excellent effect as a composition for moisture. 본 발명은 멘솔 배당체를 유효성분으로 함유하는 보습용 화장료 조성물, 의약외품 조성물, 및 멘솔 배당체의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 제조방법을 통해 화학적 방법이 아닌 인체에 안전한 생물전환 방법으로 (-)-멘틸-β-D-글루코스를 간편하게 제조할 수 있어, (-)-멘틸-β-D-글루코스와 관련된 다양한 산업에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 (-)-멘틸-β-D-글루코스는 멘솔에 비해 수용성이 높고, 세포 독성이 없으며, 멘솔 보다 우수한 피부 온도 감소 효과가 있을 뿐만 아니라 보습용 조성물로 우수한 효과를 가진다.
