Summary:The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy comprising an extract of Phytolaccae Radix as an active ingredient. Particularly, it is shown that the extract of Phytolaccae Radix according to the present invention alleviates inhibition of neurite growth caused by chemotherapy, while not causing toxicity to normal cells and not affecting the cytotoxic effect unique to chemotherapy in human cancer cell lines, and effectively reduces the sensitivity to increased stimulation in an animal model of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Thus, the extract of Phytolaccae Radix can be useful for an active ingredient of a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. 본 발명은 상륙() 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 항암제 유발 말초신경병증(chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy) 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 본 발명의 상륙 추출물은 정상세포에 독성을 유발하지 않고, 인간암세포주에서 항암제의 고유한 세포독성 효력에 영향을 주지 않으면서 동시에, 항암제에 의한 신경돌기 성장 억제를 완화하며, 항암제 유발 말초신경병증 동물모델에서 증가된 자극에 대한 민감도를 효과적으로 감소시키는 것을 확인함으로써, 상기 상륙 추출물은 항암제로 유발된 말초신경병증 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물의 유효성분으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
