Summary:The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling battery charging of an electric vehicle with a field-winding synchronous motor, which allow a field-winding synchronous motor (alternator) to play a role of an alternator of a general vehicle and allow an inverter to directly charge a low voltage battery (12-V battery) when a fault of a DC-DC converter occurs. The apparatus for controlling battery charging of an electric vehicle with a field-winding synchronous motor comprises: a vehicle control unit (VCU) to control a charging path of a low voltage battery when a fault of a DC-DC converter is detected, and control a field current of a field-winding synchronous motor; an inverter to adjust the field current of the field-winding synchronous motor, and convert AC power generated by the field-winding synchronous motor into DC power; and a charging path controller to supply the DC power generated by the inverter to the low voltage battery. DC-DC converter의 장애 발생 시 계자권선형 동기전동기(발전기)가 일반 차량의 발전기(alternator) 역할을 하도록 하고, 인버터(Inverter)가 직접 저전압 배터리(12V 배터리)를 충전할 수 있도록 한 계자권선형 동기전동기를 탑재한 전기 자동차의 배터리 충전 제어장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로서, DC-DC Converter의 장애 검출 시 저전압 배터리의 충전 경로를 제어하며, 계자권선형 동기 전동기의 계자 전류를 제어하는 차량 제어 장치(VCU); 계자권선형 동기 전동기의 계자 전류를 조절하고, 계자권선형 동기 전동기로부터 발생한 AC 전력을 DC 전력으로 변환하는 인버터; 및 인버터에서 발생한 DC 전력을 저전압 배터리에 공급해주는 충전경로 제어기로, 계자권선형 동기전동기를 탑재한 전기 자동차의 배터리 충전 제어장치를 구현한다.
