Provided is a dye made from Ecklonia cava containing a natural dye, fucoxanthin, of 1.5 mg/100 mg or higher, as a dye powder obtained by freeze-drying a liquid extract of Ecklonia cava which is prepared by steaming harvested Ecklonia cava. In addition, provided is a natural dyeing method comprising the follow steps: steaming harvested Ecklonia cava; collecting a liquid extract of Ecklonia cava by steaming; obtaining a dye powder of Ecklonia cava by drying the liquid extract; preparing a dye by mixing the dye powder of Ecklonia cava with water and dyeing a fabric with the dye. 본 발명은 감태 채취물을 증기로 자숙하여 얻어진 액상 추출물을 동결 건조하여 얻어지는 염료 분말로서, 천연색소 후코잔틴을 1.5mg/100mg 이상 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 감태 염료를 제공한다. 또한, 본 발명은 감태 채취물을 증기를 이용하여 자숙하는 단계; 자숙을 통해 감태로부터 액상 추출물을 얻는 단계; 상기 액상 추출물을 건조시켜 감태 분말 염료를 얻는 단계; 상기 감태 분말염료에 물을 혼합하여 염액을 준비하고, 상기 염액으로 직물을 염색하는 단계를 포함하는 감태 천연염색 방법을 제공한다.
