Summary:The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing iron oxide for iron ore. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing iron oxide for iron ore, which comprises preparing iron oxide from an aqueous iron chloride solution generated as a filtrate during the manufacture of nickel-iron compounds from nickel- and cobalt-containing ore through dry and wet refining techniques. The method comprises the steps of: preparing an aqueous iron chloride solution; treating the aqueous iron chloride solution with an ion exchange resin that adsorbs nickel and cobalt selectively to reduce the nickel and cobalt remaining in the aqueous iron chloride solution; heating and evaporating the aqueous iron chloride solution from which nickel and cobalt are reduced to precipitate iron chloride crystals; and calcinating the precipitated iron chloride crystals to obtain iron oxide. 철광석용 산화철 제조방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시형태는, 니켈 및 코발트 함유 광석으로부터 건,습식 제련기술에 의해 니켈-철 화합물을 제조하는 과정에서 여액으로 발생하는 염화철 수용액으로부터 산화철을 제조하는 철광석용 산화철 제조방법에 있어서, 염화철 수용액을 준비하는 단계; 상기 염화철 수용액에 잔류하는 니켈 및 코발트를 저감하기 위해, 니켈 및 코발트를 선택적으로 흡착하는 이온교환수지를 이용하여 이온교환 처리하는 단계; 상기 이온교환 처리에 의해 니켈 및 코발트가 저감된 염화철 수용액을 가열 및 증발시켜, 염화철 결정으로 석출시키는 단계; 및 상기 석출된 염화철 결정을 배소하여 산화철을 얻는 단계를 포함하는 철광석용 산화철 제조방법을 제공한다.
