Summary:The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a side surface of a glass substrate, capable of simplifying processes and improving processing efficiency. The method includes a laser beam forming step and a side surface processing step. In the laser beam forming step, laser beam is formed such that the sectional shape of the beam is square and the strength of the beam becomes greater as the beam is far from the center of the section and has the maximum extent of the beam at the edge of the section. In the side surface processing step, the laser beam formed from the laser beam forming step is disposed so as to face the side of the glass substrate, and the side surface of the substrate is exfoliated by a certain thickness and both edges of the side surface of the substrate are chamfered at the same time while the formed laser beam or the glass substrate moves along a direction to which the side of substrate is directed. 본 발명은 유리기판 측면 가공방법에 관한 것으로서, 레이저빔 성형단계와, 측면 가공단계를 포함한다. 레이저빔 성형단계는 단면 형상은 사각 형상이고 단면의 중심부에서 멀어질수록 빔의 강도가 증가하며 모서리부에서 빔의 강도가 최대가 되도록 레이저빔을 성형한다. 측면 가공단계는 레이저빔 성형단계에서 성형된 레이저빔을 유리기판의 측면과 마주보도록 배치하고 유리기판 측면이 형성된 방향을 따라 성형된 레이저빔 또는 유리기판을 이동시키면서, 유리기판 측면을 일정 두께로 박리시키는 동시에 유리기판 측면의 양 모서리부를 함께 챔퍼링한다.
