Summary:The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a power circuit in a portable terminal. More specifically, the apparatus for controlling a power circuit in a portable terminal is capable of lengthening a service life of a battery by defining an event which may occur in a portable terminal and separately designing a functional circuit required for carrying out the event so that the power is selectively supplied to the functional circuit required for processing the relevant event when the event has occurred, in order to increase the service life of the battery embedded in the portable terminal having ETCS.
