Disclosed are a method for generating image feature information for image filtering and a recording-medium therefor. The method for generating image feature information for image filtering according to an aspect of the present invention comprises the steps of: cutting in half an object image by horizontal and vertical directions into four equal portions; calculating first difference values and second difference values by pixel unit for diagonally corresponding points for the four equal portions, in a manner symmetrical with respect to the center; generating an image matrix using the first and second difference values; and generating feature information using an image matrix. 영상 필터링을 위한 영상 특징정보 생성 방법 및 그 방법이 기록된 기록매체가 개시된다. 본 발명의 일측면에 따른 영상 필터링을 위한 특징정보 생성방법은, 대상 영상을 중앙 기준으로 가로 및 세로 방향으로 이등분하여 총 4등분 하는 단계; 분할 영상들에 대해 대각선 방향으로 대응된 것들 간의 제1 차이값들 및 제2 차이값들을 화소단위로 산출하되, 중앙을 기준으로 대칭되도록 산출하는 단계; 제1 차이값들과 제2 차이값들을 이용한 영상행렬을 생성하는 단계; 및 영상행렬을 이용하여 특징정보를 생성하는 단계를 포함한다.
