Summary:Disclosed is a canister-type thruster. The canister-type thruster according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a canister lifted in a trunk of a hull and a floating structure; a lifting device for lifting the canister; and a guide device for guiding the lifting of the canister. The lifting device includes a rack gear installed in parallel in a lifting direction on the outer surface of the canister; a pinion gear installed in the trunk and engaged with the rack gear; and a lifting driving unit driving the pinion gear. The rack gear includes one or more buffer teeth formed on the end part of the rack gear, which is initially engaged with the pinion gear, to alleviate engagement impact.
