The present invention relates to a test method of a vehicle controller and, more specifically, to a method for testing a controller which controls the electronics of a vehicle in a process for developing the vehicle controller. The method for testing the vehicle controller comprises: a step of generating and inputting random defect data in a defect generation program which generates data for defects generated in the vehicle; a step of enabling the defect generation program to recognize a communication module to transmit the defect data and for transmitting the defect data using the communication module; a step of enabling the vehicle controller to receive the transmitted defect data; a step of generating an output signal in the vehicle controller using the received defect data; and a step of monitoring and extracting the generated output signal. According to the method, the present invention can improve productivity of the controller and can maximize the efficiency of a work by testing the defects of the controller in the production process and development process of the controller to control the electronics of the vehicle in real time.
