A system and a method for transmitting packets using a task-based binary type smart remote metering protocol which are capable of inserting and transmitting packets with a DLMS protocol which is a standard protocol of a meter when transmitting and receiving packets between remote metering server and data concentrator. The provided system for transmitting packets using a task-based binary type smart remote metering protocol includes: a first protocol transmission device for inserting a DLMS protocol type command packet generated in a remote metering server into a B-SMCP protocol and transmitting the packet; and a second protocol transmission device for detecting a DLMS protocol type command packet from the B-SMCP protocol received from the first protocol transmission device, transmitting the packet to the data concentrator, inserting the DLMS protocol type response packet received from the data concentrator into a B-SMCP protocol and transmitting the packet to the first protocol transmission device.
