Summary:The present invention relates to a system for selecting a career using hierarchical feature classification for a face image and a method for the same. The system comprises: a feature classifying unit (100) to classify each part of an input face image and generating each of the classified part into feature classification information having separate properties; a property giving unit (200) to normalize the face image included in the feature classification information and sample images pre-stored in a sample DB (210), computing the similarity between the sample images and the face image, and generating the properties of a sample image having a highest similarity value into the properties of the face image; a property indexing unit (300) to generate an average value of the properties given to the face image into index information for the entire face feature property; and a career matching unit (400) to index the career information belonging to a group similar to the indexes of the index information for the entire face feature property among a plurality of career information pre-stored in a career DB (410) to generate the career selection information. According to the present invention as described above, inherent individual talent according to a face type can be discovered in advance, and a guideline of career selection can be provided, by classifying the hierarchical features of a face image, based on the features of faces of northern and southern types, matching the features of the classified face image and the features of a sample image, giving properties to each features, indexing the properties, and drawing a career group corresponding to the indexed face images.
