The present invention relates to a system for preventing collision of vehicles using mobile global positioning system (GPS) information and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the system, which is to prevent car accidents using GPS data, comprises: a mobile terminal that provides the GPS information by using the mobile application; a without-charge (WC) server that predicts the direction of a vehicle with provided GPS information and transmits the data to the other vehicle that has a possibility to collide with this vehicle according to the predicted direction, and an instant message (IM) server that maps out the predicted direction of the vehicle and checks out the collision inspection by a cell unit of the map, and sends the expected time of the collision and the identification (ID) of the mobile terminal of the other vehicle that can collide with this vehicle according to the inspection results to the WC server.
