PURPOSE: A multipurpose vertical heating furnace and a heating method thereof are provided to arrange a flat type burner obliquely, thereby evenly heating a heating surface of a vertical structure member and controlling regularly the inner temperature of the multipurpose vertical heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: A multipurpose vertical heating furnace comprises a heating furnace body, a loading jig, a loading device, and a flat type burner(120). A vertical structure member is seated on the heating furnace for heating and pressing tests. The loading jig is installed in the inner lower part of the heating furnace body in order to support the vertical structure member. The loading device applies power to the vertical structure member in a vertical direction. The flat type burner heats the vertical structure member and belches flames of a streamlined shape so that the flames are blenched by being spread.
