PURPOSE: A friction welding apparatus is provided to obtain an improved pressing force by coupling a screw shaft, which is connected to two transfer motors, to both sides of a housing. CONSTITUTION: A friction welding apparatus comprises a rotary chuck(10), a reciprocating unit(23), a fixing unit(26), a steady rest(48), and a supporting member(50). A table(30) installed on the top of a base(4) is mounted on the fixing unit. A rail perpendicular to the axial center of the rotary chuck is installed on the top of the table. A slider is sliding-coupled to the rail and coupled with a board on top. A screw shaft is coupled to a mass projecting from the underside of the board to be perpendicular to the axial center of the rotary chuck and parallel to the rail. A serve motor is fixed to the table with an axis connected to the rear end of the screw shaft. A collet chuck(28) fitted with a base material and a clamp member are fixed above the board.
