Summary:PURPOSE: A catalyst composition for the hydroformylation reaction of an olefin-based compound and a method for hydroformylating the olefin-based compound using the same are provided to continuously consume one-coordinate phosphine ligands in an aldehyde collecting process and to select and additionally introduce suitable ligands into a reactor. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst composition for the hydroformylation reaction of an olefin-based compound includes one-coordinate phosphine ligand and a transition metal catalyst. The one-coordinate phosphine ligand includes tri-p-tolylphosphine, tri-p-ethylphenylphosphine, tris-p-methoxyphenyl phosphine, or tri-p-isopropoxyphenylphosphine. A substituent is placed at the para-position of the one-coordinate phosphine ligand. The transition metal catalyst is represented by chemical formula 2. In the chemical formula 2, the M is rhodium. The L1 to L3 are respectively hydrogen, CO, cyclooctadiene, norbornene, chlorine, triphenylphosphine, or acetylacetonato. The x, the y, and the z are respectively the integer of 0 to 5.
