PURPOSE: A charcoal kiln and a hard charcoal manufacturing method using the same are provided to obtain pure hard charcoal through pyrolysis by adopting a spontaneous ignition method. CONSTITUTION: A charcoal kiln comprises a main body(110), a fire gate, an exhaust duct, and a carbonization furnace. The main body comprises an entrance for the supply and discharge of timber. An indirect heating source is provided through the fire gate to the timber. The smoke and gas produced during the carbonization of the timber are exhausted through the exhaust duct. The carbonization furnace is installed inside the main body to be connected to the fire gate and the exhaust duct and provides a space for carbonization of the timber. The carbonization furnace comprises a bottom part(151), a sidewall part(152), a domed ceiling part(153), and a metal support band(154) which is installed along the interior of the sidewall part in order to support the exterior of the ceiling part, wherein the bottom part, the sidewall part, and the ceiling part are made of fireproof bricks.
