Summary: | PURPOSE: A transition metal stabilized α type sialon phosphor is provided to ensure short reaction time and to solve problems on use of plural gases and a high temperature and high pressure heat treatment. CONSTITUTION: A transition metal stabilized α type sialon phosphor comprises the steps of: (a) performing selfpropagating high-temperature synthesis by injecting a mixture of transition metal oxide, rare earth metal compounds, silicon circle, aluminum source, reducing agent and reaction activator into a high-pressure reactor, and then momentary and locally igniting the mixture in a nitrogen atmosphere; and (b) washing the products with distilled water and then acidic solution. |
