Summary:A system and a method for cracking down illegal parking are provided to enhance effectively regulation efficiency on the illegal parking by performing the regulation based on regulation areas. A vehicle system for cracking down illegal parking includes a camera(220), a lane recognizing unit(230), a controller(210), and a plate number extracting unit(240). The camera selectively mounted at an inner or outer of vehicles photographs an area. The lane recognizing unit recognizes lanes of roads from images photographed by the camera. The controller specifies types and colors of the lanes recognized by the lane recognizing unit. The plate number extracting unit extracts license plate number from the photographed images when the determined lanes represent illegal parking and stopping areas.
