Summary:A music play system and a method thereof are provided to sort moods, to detect highlight, to search a similar song, and to sort titles with respect to music files so as to play the music selectively in accordance with the condition of a user. A music play system(100) comprises a mood sorting part(140), a similar song detecting part(150), a judging part(120), a music file processing part(130), a highlight detection part(160), and a title sorting part(180). The similar song detecting part searches a song which is similar to a desired music. The judging part judges whether the music file is a compression file or a non-MDCT(Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) based music file. The music file processing part processes audio data of the music file based on the sorts of the music file. The highlight detection part detects a highlight section of the music file. The music file processing part includes first and second decoders, a re-sampling part, and an FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) part.
