Summary:A beta-diketone compound, and a method for preparing the beta-diketone compound are provided to obtain a beta-diketone compound capable of forming a complex with various metals having a large atom diameter and to improve the thermal stability and volatility of the formed complex. A beta-diketone compound is represented by the formula 1, wherein R1 is a C1-C10 linear or branched alkyl group; R2, R3, R4 and R5 are independently H or a C1-C5 linear or branched alkyl group, but R2 and R3 cannot be H simultaneously; A is -OR6 or -NR7R8; R6, R7 and R8 are independently a C1-C5 linear or branched alkyl group; n is an integer of 0-10; m is 0 or 1; and m and n cannot be 0 simultaneously if A is -OR6.
