Summary: | A method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery is provided to minimize the generation of a swelling phenomenon after a formation step, thereby improving charge/discharge characteristics, lifespan characteristics and low- and high-temperature characteristics of a battery. A method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery comprises the steps of: providing an electrode assembly by stacking a cathode plate and an anode plate with a separator interposed therebetween; introducing the electrode assembly into a casing, injecting an additive-containing electrolyte and sealing the casing; and carrying out formation of the casing. In the method, the additive is at least one selected from LiF2BC2O4, 3,9-divinyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5,5]undecane, LiBC(C2O4)2, poly(ethylene glycol) borage, derivatives thereof, halogen-substituted carbonates and vinyl silane. The initial charge is conducted in a range of 50-100% of the capacity of the battery. |
