Summary:A variable displacement rotary compressor is provided to extend service life of vanes in the compressor and to improve reliability in operating vanes by a constant supply of lubricant to a sealed compartment of the compressor. A variable displacement rotary compressor has a compression chamber, a cylinder(30) having vane guides(45,56) extended outward from the inner wall of the compressor chamber and vane slots(44,54) extended from vane guides to sealed space(46), rollers(42,52) rotating eccentrically to compress refrigerant, vanes(43,53) in vane slots partitioning compression chambers by making contacts with outer surface of the roller, a vane control unit(60) applying either suction pressure or discharge pressure to the sealed space, and a pipe(61) connecting the vane control unit and the sealed space as well as storing lubricant supplied to the sealed space.
