Summary: | A method for controlling the movement of a transducer and a disc drive using the same are provided to limit time when the transducer continuously remains in a certain position of a disc irrespective of whether read/write operation is performed. A controller judges whether a transducer is located in a data zone of a disc at a time interval initially set up(S401-S404). When the transducer is located in the data zone of the disc, the controller judges whether a command accompanying disc access is executed(S405). When the command accompanying the disc access is executed, the controller waits until the execution of the command is completed and moves the transducer to a new target track determined according to a track number generation rule initially set up(S406-S408). When the command is not executed, the controller immediately moves the transducer to the new target track determined according to the track number generation rule(S407,S408). |
