Summary:A mixer capable of preventing distortion of an output signal and a frequency conversion method are provided to reduce IM3 without increasing operating current. The first transconductance amplifier(110) amplifies an inputted voltage signal by the first gain, and generates the first amplification current signal having basic components of the first level and the third Inter-Modulation distortion(IM3) components of the second level. The second transconductance amplifier(120) amplifies the inputted voltage signal by the second gain, and generates the second amplification current signal having basic components of the third level lower than the first level and the third intermodulation distortion(IM3) components of the second level. A phase shifter(130) generates the first current signal by moving a phase of the second amplification current signal. A coupling circuit(140) generates the second current signal by subtracting the first current signal from the first amplification current signal. A switch circuit(150) performs switching operation in response to a local signal, and generates an output current signal by converting frequencies of the second current signal.
