PURPOSE: A method for automatically assigning an address to a terminal using the wireless communication is provided to realize communication between the terminal and a PC by automatically assigning the address of the terminal in case that the communication is performed by using the PC and several terminals. CONSTITUTION: Power is applied to the terminal. It is judged that an address check signal transmitted from the PC is received to the terminal. In the case that the address check signal is received, it is judged that the terminal using the 1-N address is present through sequential check. If the assigned address is present, it is judged that a preset time is passed. If the unassigned address is present during the sequential check, the unassigned address is assigned to the terminal. If the address is assigned to the terminal, the assigned address is transmitted to the PC. 본 발명은 단말기의 자국 어드레스를 자동으로 지정하기 위한 단말기의 어드레스 지정방법에 관한 것으로, 단말기에 전원을 인가하는 단계와; PC로부터 전송된 어드레스 체크신호가 수신되었는지를 판단하는 단계와; 어드레스 체크신호가 수신된 경우 (1,2, ...N)번 어드레스를 가지고 사용중인 단말기가 있는지를 순차적으로 검사하여 판단하는 단계와; 설정된 시간이 경과되었는지를 판단하는 단계와; 순차적으로 어드레스를 검사하면서 지정되지 않은 어드레스를 단말기에 지정하는 단계와; 단말기의 어드레스가 지정되면 지정된 어드레스를 PC로 전송하는 단계;를 포함한다. 본 발명은 여러대의 단말기 사용시 자동으로 자국의 어드레스를 설정하여 지정함으로써 사용자의 편리를 도모할 수 있다.
