Summary:PURPOSE: A road traffic lane violation monitoring and tracking system and a method thereof are provided to control traffic lane violation vehicles accurately by photographing the violation vehicle using a digital camera. CONSTITUTION: An analog camera(2) photographs a road including a traffic lane change prohibition area(5). A digital camera(3) photographs a vehicle violating the traffic lane change prohibition to discriminate a vehicle number board of the vehicle. And a vehicle number board recognition system sets a vehicle photographing area of the digital camera, and tracks the violation vehicle by comparing the images photographed by the analog camera, and transmits a photograph signal to the digital camera if the vehicle enters the photographing area of the digital camera, and issues a traffic lane violation notice by extracting the vehicle number from the image photographed by the digital camera.
