Summary:PURPOSE: A friction welding method is provided to restrict deformation of the joint, and to bond two panels quickly and firmly by arranging the connecting member in the bonding portion and mounting a convex part protruded for the tool in the bonding member. CONSTITUTION: Panels(31,32) are manufactured by extruding aluminum alloy, and composed of two parallel plates(33,34) and a third member(35) connecting the plates. The end of the plate of the panel is bonded to the end of the plate of the other panel by friction welding. A vertical plate(36) is formed in the end of the panel to connect the plates and to maintain the rigidity in friction welding, and arranged perpendicularly to the two plates. The vertical plates contacted to each other are placed below a rotating tool(50) after friction welding, and a boundary(53) between a large rod(51) and a small rod(52) is placed on the panels in friction welding. Friction welding is performed by turning the rotating tool and inserting the small rod between the plates of the panels.
