Summary:PURPOSE: A method for estimating swelling property of coal is provided to suppress swelling pressure during the dry distillation of cokes by estimating a swelling property at the state where the coal is pressed. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of producing a structure by pressing the finely crushed coal at normal temperature; a second step of raising the temperature at constant speed of 5 deg.C/minute under an inactive atmosphere and performing a heat treatment for a predetermined time period at the temperature of 500 to 900 deg.C; and a third step of estimating a swelling property of the coal from the change of swelling index of the structure. 본 발명은 고로용 코크스 제조원료로 사용되는 원료탄의 품질을 평가하기 위한 고로용 코크스제조 원료탄의 팽창성 평가방법에 관한 것으로, 원료탄의 팽창성을 판정하기 위하여, 미분쇄한 원료탄을 상온에서 가압성형하여 성형체를 제조한 후, 불활성분위기하에서 5℃/분 이상의 일정한 승온속도로 승온하여 500℃-900℃의 온도에서 소정시간 열처리함에 따른 성형체의 팽창율의 변화로부터 원료탄의 팽창성을 평가하도록 하여서 된 것이다.
