Summary:PURPOSE: A traffic information system is provided to inform necessary information to drivers by exactly detecting a traffic delay status. CONSTITUTION: A terminal system(10) of a vehicle comprises a mobile phone terminal(110) and a navigation device(120). The mobile phone terminal is accesses to a mobile public communicant network(3) through a radio communication circuit. The navigation device includes a processing unit(126), a memory(125), a map database(127), a display device(130), a display control unit(129), an interface unit(128) and an input unit(124). The processing unit comprises a GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver to receive information to be transmitted from the ground and calculates a present position of the vehicle, a gyro sensor(122) to calculate the speed of the vehicle and a speed sensor(123) to calculate the speed of the vehicle according to the RPM(Rotation Per Minute). The memory is composed of a ROM(Read Only Memory), a RAM(Random Access Memory) or a resistor. The map database comprises a CD-ROM to store maps and a CD-ROM driver. The display device displays the map, the present position or the traffic delay information. The display control unit controls the display of the display device. The interface unit relays the information transmission/receiving between the mobile phone terminal and the processing unit. The input unit receives the directions of a driver. An information center system(20) contains plural processors(202), an exchanger(201), an information server system(210) and a pay system(208). The processors process communications between the terminals system and information terminals(60,70). The exchanger transmits each communication from the processors through an exclusive circuit of the public network and distributes each communication from the public network to the processors. The information server system comprises a computer.
