Summary:PURPOSE: Provided is a smoking composition which generates main-stream smoke having good taste and side-stream smoke having a palliated aroma under smoking conditions by using a flavor-releasing component having low mobility and/or volatility at ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION: The smoking composition comprises an admixture of a combustible filler formed of natural tobacco, reconstituted tobacco or a tobacco substitute, and 0.0001 to 5 wt% of a flavor-releasing additive, based on the total weight of filler. The flavor-releasing additive is a beta-hydroxycarboxylic acid compound represented by the formula, wherein R1 is a C4-C7 alkyl substituent, R2 is a C1-C4 alkyl substituent, and R3 is hydrogen or an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal atom. 본 발명은 신규한 베타(β)-히드록시-카르복실레이트로 된 향미료 방출 첨가제를 함유하는 흡연 조성물을 제공하기 위한 것이다. 시가렛 흡연 조건하에서, 가연성 충진재 및/또는 비스(2,2-디에틸-3-하이드록시-4-페닐메틸렌데칸산) 칼슘과 같은 종이 포장재 첨가제가 열분해되어 시카렛 연기의 휘발성 향미 성분인 알파(α)-헥실신나말데히드를 방출한다.
