PURPOSE: A device for transmitting/receiving TV broadcasting which selectively controls the viewing of an under-aged viewer and a control method thereof are provided to prevent under-aged people from viewing television by multiplexing warning message with broadcasting signals without changing a broadcasting transmitter at all. CONSTITUTION: A device for transmitting/receiving TV broadcasting which selectively controls the viewing of an under-aged viewer includes a transmitter(300) for transmitting multiplexed warning messages for viewing-exhibited programs by RF signals, a tuner(302) for selecting a channel from the RF signal and converting the selected channel to an intermediate frequency signal, an image detecting part(303) for detecting an image signal from the intermediate frequency signal to separate a composite image signal, an image recognition part(304) for searching the warning messages from the composite image signal to output the existence of the warning messages, a microcomputer(307) for outputting control signals for determining operations of respective parts according to the existence of the warning messages, an image control part(306) for transmitting the input image signal to a CPT according to the control signal of the microcomputer, an image message output part(308) for outputting a stored images message signal according to the control signal, a sound detecting part(311) for detecting a sound signal from the intermediate frequency signal, a sound control part(313) for transmitting the sound to a speaker according to the control signal of the microcomputer, and a sound message output part(314) for outputting a stored sound message signal to the speaker under the control of the microcomputer.
