PURPOSE: A system of processing a video message of an image telephone using a VOD is provided to leave a video message to the other person being in absence by that an image telephone service system holds part of a VOD service system video in common. CONSTITUTION: The system includes a video server for a VOD, a subscriber terminal, a multi-media switch, a controller for a VOD and a net video server. The video server for a VOD stores a compressed video information for VOD service and a video message received from a subscriber gotten a call and provides the information for a subscriber to want. The subscriber terminal is installed in a house and decodes and graphically processes the video information to display. The multi-media switch switches the connection between a variety of sources of information connected to a net and the subscriber terminal as a non-synchronous transmission mode exchanger. The controller for a VOD controls the connection between the video server for the VOD and the subscriber terminal.
