Summary:PURPOSE: A fuel feed shutoff system prevents the occurrence of a fire by breaking the supply of fuel on a head-on collision of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A fuel feed shutoff system comprises a fuel shutoff valve(8), a resistance wire(5), a resistance gauge(6) and an electronic control unit(7). The fuel shutoff valve(8) mounted on one side of the center of a fuel pipe(2) breaks the supply of fuel. The resistance wire(5) is mounted to cross an engine room(4) between an engine(1) and a fuel filter(3). The resistance gauge(6) mounted on one side of the resistance wire(5) measures the resistance value of the resistance wire(5) and inputs the measured resistance value to the electronic control unit(7). When the engine(1) pulls backward an impact coming from the head-on collision of a vehicle, the resistance wire(5) extends the engine(1). The resistance value of the resistance wire(5) is increased by the extension of the resistance wire(5). The electronic control unit(7) operates the fuel shutoff valve(8) to break the supply of fuel from a fuel pump(10) to the engine(1) when the resistance value of the resistance wire(5) inputted from the resistance gauge(6) is above constant value. 본 발명은 자동차의 정면 충돌시 연료의 공급을 차단하는 정면 충돌시 연료 공급 차단 시스템에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 자동차의 정면 충돌시 엔진(1)이 후방으로 밀리는 것에 의해 엔진(1)의 후방에 설치된 저항선(5)이 늘어나게 되어 저항값이 커지게 된다. 저항 게이지(6)에 의해 측정되는 저항값이 일정치 이상이면 엔진 룸(4) 후방으로 연장된 연료 파이프(2)의 일측에 설치된 연료 차단 밸브(8)가 작동되어 연료의 공급을 차단하게 된다. 따라서, 자동차의 정면 충돌시에도 연료가 누출되제 않게 되어 화재가 일어나는 것이 방지될 수 있다.
