METHOD OF CHARGING ORE

The method concerns introduction of finely granulated ore (in particular, iron ore) into a reactor vessel (1) which is subjected to process gas flow. The ore is first introduced into a vessel (35,36) where it is pressurised by means of a pressurizing gas, and is then delivered into the vessel (1) th...

Summary:The method concerns introduction of finely granulated ore (in particular, iron ore) into a reactor vessel (1) which is subjected to process gas flow. The ore is first introduced into a vessel (35,36) where it is pressurised by means of a pressurizing gas, and is then delivered into the vessel (1) through the pipe (5). A part of the ore is introduced at least into one further pressure vessel (35,36) and pressurised there, so that continuous charging of the reactor vessel (1) takes place alternatingly from the vessels (35,36). At the same time, a part of the process gas is separated and used in the role of the pressuring gas, and is returned together with ore. The appts. for carrying out the above method is also claimed and is characterised by the presence of at least one further pressurisation vessel (35,36) and switching means for alternative ore supply into the vessels (35,36) and hence into the reactor vessel (1).
