Summary:PURPOSE:To aim at smooth traveling by providing a thermo-wax spring acting in such a direction as to close a choke valve in accordance with the temperature of engine cooling water, and further an auxiliary thermo-wax spring acting in such a direction as to close the choke valve only when the engine cooling water is at a temperature lower than a preset temperature. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of engine cooling water is 20 deg.C or more, the action of a thermo-wax spring 5 effects usual control. Meanwhile, when the temperature of the engine cooling water is lower than 10 deg.C, an auxiliary thermo-wax spring 1 acts in such a direction as to close a choke valve 2 so as to increase force for closing the choke valve 2, thereby preventing the excessive opening of the choke valve 2 caused by an increase in air moment acting on the choke valve 2 following an increase in air quantity at the initial step of acceleration. Therefore, it is possible to make the air-fuel ratio of mixed air supplied to an engine suitable so as not to deteriorate traveling performance even at a low temperature.
