Summary:PURPOSE:To attain the thinning of a camera and to simplify a switching mechanism by providing a lever for switching a lens barrel to a tele/wide and making the lens barrel in a collapsible state when a main switch is turned off. CONSTITUTION:A 1st tele/wide switching lever 60 is pivotally supported to the shaft 56A of a gear 56 and operated with a zoom knob 106A through a 2nd tele/wide switching lever 106. The zoom knob 106A is constituted so that it can interlock with the main switch. If the main switch is turned off, the switching lever 60 is moved to a wide side and a pin 61 is specified with a guide groove 78 to be moved from a W end to barrier closing, so that the lens barrel 68 becomes in the collapsible state. On the contrary, if the main switch is turned on, the switching lever 60 moves to a tele side and the lens barrel 68 is drawn from the collapsible state to the wide end. Thus, the thinning of the camera and the simplification of the mechanism can be attained.
