Summary:PURPOSE:To clean an evaporator without switching over a vapor pipe by bypassing a pipeline for a liq. to be treated connected to the liq. inlet side of the evaporator, and providing a change-over valve connected to the pipeline for the liq. to be treated connected to the inlet side of the succeeding evaporator. CONSTITUTION:The vapor pipes 19-22 and the pipelines 23-78 for the liq. to be treated are connected to the evaporators 1, 2, 3 and 4 of downward flowing film type, and the change-over valves 79-101 are connected to the pipelines. When one desired evaporator of the multiple-effect evaporator equipment is cleaned during operation, the change-over valves are operated to bypass the pipeline for the liq. to be treated on the inlet side of the evaporator concerned and to connected the pipeline to the pipeline for the liq. to be treated on the inlet side of the succeeding evaporator. Washing water is supplied to the pipeline of the evaporator concerned, and the evaporator is cleaned. The black change- over valve in the figure is closed, and the white change-over valve is opened. Since the change-over valves of the vapor pipe, condensate pipeline, and extraction pipeline can be dispensed with, cleaning can be easily carried out.
