Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the effect of leakage of a mutual channel of a luminance signal and a chrominance signal by using a luminance signal/chrominance signal filter depending on the correlation of a picture in the vertical aud horizontal direction of a composite color television signal. CONSTITUTION:A composite color television signal is sampled by an A/D converter 4. The A/D converter 4 and the output of one-line delay circuits 5a, 5b are given to a vertical chrominance signal extraction filter 6a, a horizontal chrominance signal extraction filter 6b and a horizontal/vertical chrominance signal extraction filter 6c. Outputs of the filters 6a-6c are given to a switch circuit 8 via compensation delay circuits 5c-5e. An output of the picture correlation discrimination circuit 7 is given to the switch circuit 8 as a control signal. The output of the switch circuit 8 is outputted from the terminal 2 as the chrominance signal and given to a subtractor circuit 9a. A luminance signal is outputted from the subtraction circuit 9a.
