Summary:NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R is (substituted)higher alkyl; R is H, (substituted)lower alkyl, (substituted)lower alkanoyl, etc.; R is primary - tertiary amino or quaternary ammonium; n is 2 or 3] or salt thereof. EXAMPLE:1-0-Octadecyl-3-0-[2-(2-trityloxyethoxy)ethyl] glycerin. USE:An antiulcer agent and plalet-activating factor antagonist. Useful also in prevention and remedy for circulation hindrance disease and allergy because of having plalet-activating factor antagonism. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula XI is reacted with a sulfonic acid halide in a proper deacidifying agent (e.g. triethylamine) at -20-100 deg.C, preferably -10-50 deg.C to afford formula XI' (R is benzenesulfonyl), which is reacted with an amine to provide the compound expressed by formula I wherein R is (substituted)lower alkyl.
