Summary:PURPOSE:To reliably and easily mount parts placed on a parts mounting pallet to a vehicle body by precisely positioning the parts on the parts mounting pallet to corresponding parts mounting positions of the vehicle body. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle body VB carried by a carrier 14 is supported by a movable supporting portion 16a forming a vehicle body position/attitude adjusting mechanism. Under the condition, a position or attitude of the vehicle body VB is detected by sensors 17a, 17b, 20a and 20b. The movable supporting portion 16a is moved by driving means according to detection outputs from the sensors to properly adjust the position or attitude of the vehicle body. Then, the vehicle body is supported by lift arm members 22a and 22b, and is moved onto a parts mounting pallet PL. Parts placed on the parts mounting pallet PL are automatically mounted to the vehicle body without the need of positioning.
