Summary:PURPOSE:To select the distance from an optical scanning device to an image formation surface and to correct an optical axis by displacing a reflecting mirror as a reflection part for scanning light. CONSTITUTION:A couple of pedestals 30 are provided 64 threadably to both end parts of the reflecting mirror 28 which is fixed to a base 6 and moved forth and back in the direction of incident light L, and springs 32 for fixation are provided threadably to the pedestals 30 provided to both end parts of the reflecting mirror 28 by using screws 62 respectively. The pedestals 30 hold both ends of the reflecting mirror 28 through the springs 32 for fixation and the pedestals 30, reflecting mirror 28, and springs 32 for mirror fixation constitute one set of laser light reflection part. This reflection part set is displaced forth and back in the direction of the incident light L and then the distance from the base 6, i.e. optical scanning device to the surface of a photosensitive drum 24 varies correspondingly. Consequently, a light beam can accurately be projected and corrected at a specific position on the image formation surface and the time required to adjust an optical axis shift is shortened.
