Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent dirt from sticking to an infrared detector for detecting the temperature of a railway car wheel through detection of infrared rays radiated from the wheel by arranging an open-close shutter in a hood section of the incident path of the infrared rays between the infrared detector and the wheel and by closing the shutter when the detector is not used. CONSTITUTION:Measuring the temperature of a railway car wheel 1 through the detection of infrared rays radiated from the wheel, appropriateness of the pressure of a brake shoe 2 against the wheel flange surface is determined. An open-close shutter 5 is provided in an infrared rays incident path hood 6 between the wheel 1 and an infrared detector 4. Dirt or dust is prevented from sticking to the infrared detector 4 when it is not in use by closing the shutter 5. |
