Summary:PURPOSE:To transport radioactive powder without clogging and without splashing the powder and to decrease the radiation exposure at the time of inspecting transportation equipment by using a low boiling solvent having low chemical reactivity as a carrier for transporting the radioactive powder. CONSTITUTION:A powder transporting device is formed of a powder supplying hopper 1, a powder mixture 3, a transporting pump 4, a powder hopper 5, a solvent tank 6, a solvent pump 7 and a solvent cooler 8. A stirrer 9 is provided to the mixer 3 and a filter 10 and a heater 11 are provided to a powder receiving hopper 5. A specified volume of the powder is supplied to the mixer 3 by a rotary valve 2 and the org. solvent in the solvent tank 6 is supplied by the solvent pump 7 to the mixer 3 so that the powder is suspended in the solvent. The suspension is transported by the pump 4 to the hopper 5. The solvent in the tank 6 is passed through the powder transporting line by the pump 7 to clean the piping after the powder transportation.
